“Live From My Room”

31 Aug

There has been a few times when someone would come up to me at my solo gigs and ask for a CD.  I would then say something along the lines of, “I’m sorry I don’t have any recordings of just me playing, but I’ll get to it someday.  I have a website, and if I ever get some kind of demo CD, I’ll be sure to post it on there. (while handing them my business card)“  Well, that someday happened on 8/28/11.

I was always intimidated about recording myself.  Simply because (1) I don’t really have great recording equipment (2) I didn’t feel like I was good enough to put something on CD (3) I was lazy to put the work in it (4) I dreaded the idea of doing take after take after messing up!

Finally, I’ve come to realize… so what if its not perfect.. I’m not anyway.  This little day project was fun for me!  So here it is.. free to download :)   Go to URL:  files.me.com/randyallenmusic/oy72qr  (its a .zip file that contains the mp3s)

I hit the record button on my garageband and went from there… played whatever song came to mind.  Oh and these are not originals… sorry.  I would LOVE to write my own music someday and have such a high respect for those who do.  ah… who knows… maybe someday.

Congrats to Claudia and Juan!

This lovely wedding was at the “Moana Surfrider Hotel”.  I was told that this is the 2nd oldest hotel in Waikiki which went through a major renovation…its beautiful!  Claudia & Juan were so easy going, such a nice mellow wedding with less than 30 guests :)

A big Mahalo to Kaoru from Novalee Photo for sending me these pics!  He’s a solo photographer, perfect for your intimate weddings :)   Really nice guy!

Juan, Claudia, & I

Thanks again Kaoru

ET’s Royal Aloha Wedding!

3 Aug

I was so honored and thankful to be asked to play for Kathy Ireland’s “Royal Aloha Wedding” winners.  Two lucky military couples got an all expense paid Wedding & Honey Moon.  The whole day was filmed by the TV crew from Entertainment Tonight which will be a full special episode airing soon!  Here’s a glimpse of the TV Show before the winners were picked:

Here’s part of the article from Midweek (Local Newspaper).  Click the link to read the full story:

April Van Loan and James Binari, both meteorologists, probably didn’t see this in the forecast.
